Jalal Uddin Mohammad Rumi (1207 - 17 December 1273)
He is called Muhammad
Balkhi, Maulana Rumi, Maulvi Rumi, but more popular as 'Rumi'. Rumi is
considered a poet, philosopher, religious figure, and spiritual guru. Rumi was
a poet of the thirteenth century. His book 'Masnabi' is a widely read book.
Some of his famous lines are summed up here....
1. Tapering is not an easy job. The first to burn is to burn itself.
2. You were born with fan, you have the ability to fly. Why are you still lame!
3. If there is light in your heart, you must find the way home.
4. Beauty is spreading around us. But to understand this,
you have to walk in the garden.
5. Every man has been created for a specific purpose and that
work is written in his heart. Every person feels persecution in
order to do the same thing right from inside.
6. Do not be sad about what you lost. You'll get it back again,
another way, in another form.
7. It is in your light, your light illuminates this world.
8. The lights are different, but the light is the same.
9. Be like a tree, and let the dead leaves fall.
10. If you are afraid to rub, how will you glow?
11. Do not raise your voice with your words. Remember flowering, not lightning.
